The Agile Office replaces failed gas lifts on commercial task chairs across Melbourne and Geelong. If your chair sinks during the day, won’t hold its height, or no longer adjusts smoothly, a gas lift swap is usually the fix — and it’s cheaper and faster than replacing the chair.

The chair won't go up at all, even with no weight on the seat

It drops slowly through the day — you keep re-pumping the lever to get back to height

The chair keeps sinking or won't stay up once someone sits down

Hissing or grinding from the gas strut (cylinder) when you adjust the height

The chair isn't high enough for the desk
Gas lift, gas strut, cylinder – whatever you call it, we replace it on site.
A new commercial task chair is $400–$900. A gas lift swap is $65 and takes about 15 minutes. For an office with 6–20 chairs showing the same fault, that’s the difference between a small invoice and a five-figure replacement.

Usually, yes. If the gas lift is the only failure and the rest of the chair is sound, replacing it returns the chair to full adjustment.
Yes — gas lift, gas strut, gas cylinder and hydraulic lift are all names for the same part: the sealed pneumatic cylinder under your seat that controls chair height. Whatever you call it, we replace it on-site.
About 15 minutes per chair once we start. Total booking time depends on how many chairs and the location.
Not quite — the cylinder is sealed and can’t be refilled. What’s often called “regassing” is actually fitting a new gas lift, which we do on-site from $65 per chair in about 15 minutes.
At $65 per gas lift versus $400+ for a replacement chair, yes — provided the rest of the chair is still in good condition.
